FAQ
Got questions about CampusVäre? Here are a few answers. First and foremost: We work collaboratively and cooperatively toward the sustainable development of Vorarlberg as a region rich in opportunity for living, working, and business:
WHO are we?
The team behind “CampusVäre – Creative Institute Vorarlberg” includes Bettina Steindl, Theresa Bubik, Susanne Siemayr, Katharina Neumann, Lisa-Maria Kircher, and Rafaela Huß. Together with entrepreneurs, students, creatives, pioneers, urbanists, researchers, artists, and interested minds, we are transforming 12,000 m² of industrial halls at Campus V in Dornbirn into a hub for creative industries, innovation, art, and culture under the motto “Workshop for Developing the Future.”
Campus V is a district in Dornbirn, the largest city in Vorarlberg. Since 2017—starting with the bid for the European Capital of Culture—we have been developing projects and ideas for the future alongside European networks for our region. Today, as CampusVäre – Creative Institute Vorarlberg, we are putting them into practice. Why? To position Vorarlberg on the map of Europe as an attractive and vibrant location for creative industries, innovation, art, and culture.
The founding members of the CampusVäre association are Dornbirn Tourismus und Stadtmarketing GmbH, Wirtschafts-Standort Vorarlberg GmbH, and FH Vorarlberg (University of Applied Sciences). The association is supported by the Vorarlberg Chamber of Commerce (WKV) and the Federation of Austrian Industry Vorarlberg (IV).

WHERE can you find us?
You can find us at arguably the coolest address in Austria: Spinnergasse 1 at Campus V in 6850 Dornbirn. Together with architect and designer Daniel Büchel (magdas Hotel Vienna), we adapted and fitted our office in the Former Electrical Workshop of the industrial halls based on the principles of urban mining and reuse.
WHAT is CampusVäre?
CampusVäre – Creative Institute Vorarlberg is a limited liability company (GmbH). Founded by the State of Vorarlberg, the City of Dornbirn, and FH Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, its mission is to transform the former industrial halls—previously owned by the textile company F.M. Hämmerle and now held by the City of Dornbirn—into a hub for creative industries, innovation, art, and culture. The name CampusVäre is a blend of the existing neighborhood designation Campus V and atmosphere (Atmosphäre).
“By founding CampusVäre, we are sending a strong symbolic message: an important piece of Vorarlberg’s industrial heritage (the halls) is becoming an emblem of revitalization driven by change and new trends,” states Marco Tittler, State Governor for Economic Affairs.
HOW can you reach us?
Easily—and ideally by public transport. Our doors are open, and so are our communication channels. Drop us an email at hello@c-i-v.at.
WHAT do we do?
Through creative and innovative projects, CampusVührungen (guided site tours), shared and curated lunches such as our CreativeLunches, ramp talks (Rampengespräche), concerts, and collaborations with key partners like the Vienna Design Week, FH Vorarlberg, or the Ars Electronica Center, we realize projects and formats while driving networking and collaboration—in Vorarlberg and far beyond its borders.
WHAT is our mission?
The CampusVäre association is responsible for actively bringing the Campus V site to life, connecting people, and orchestrating the content and curation of the 12,000 m² Sägenhallen in Dornbirn. We are tasked with supporting existing initiatives and projects to position Vorarlberg as a vibrant hub for creative industries, innovation, education, research, science, digitalization, and culture with far-reaching impact.

WHAT does the creative economy mean to us?
The creative economy generates crossover effects for innovation, business, and society. Creatives are the raw material of the future, acting as catalysts for innovation, transformation, and the evolution of business models.
We leverage the creative and artistic potential of this region as well as the strategic competitive advantage of the four-nation border region (Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein). Why? To actively harness digitalization—the largest transformation process since industrialization—and connect Vorarlberg's creative services to global value chains. Together, across disciplines, and always in a cooperative and collaborative spirit, we work toward a good and liveable future.

You can also become active from the comfort of your own home: Talk to your family and friends, think of what you want your cultural environment to be, look at its potential and your wishes!
