The Guiding Principles of CampusVäre – How Matters Most

The fact that we are transforming former industrial halls into a “workshop for developing the future” convinced everyone. While the textile industry has moved elsewhere, creatives in our region are often left without a home. Affordable spaces for self-determination and the development of innovative ideas have become rare. What’s missing is urban freedom and room for creativity.

Creatives are the raw material of the future

We are currently facing numerous crises, and we are all searching for creative solutions for a bright future. Creativity needs time, space, and exchange—and that is exactly what we offer in the halls of CampusVäre. Across this 12,000 m² site, it’s possible to open doors to innovative solutions and shape workshops, open spaces, and offices.

But how?

Architects, civil engineers, and other brilliant experts are currently racking their brains over this. Because this project is different. While a clear end goal usually dictates the path, here it’s the other way around. The floor plan is already set, and the toolbox is filled with an old industrial hall, a commitment to maximizing the reuse of existing resources, and the needs of our future tenants. And it works.

The opportunities of resources

At CampusVäre, it’s not just about the WHAT, but very clearly about the HOW. Our top priority is engaging with and creatively using secondary resources. When these are no longer available or suitable, we choose renewable or circular resources. Together with the materialnomaden, we are on the hunt for items (such as wall elements, windows, etc.) that already exist and can be repurposed. We work with what we have and offer creative answers to the question of how we can build a good future.

In the loop

We don't just provide the space for innovative solutions; we ourselves are the result of a creative and sustainable solution process. Starting small as we are, we aim to make a big impact in the end.

Following the tracks of the European Green Deal

On both a small and large scale, we bring the concept of circular culture to the point. We provide a space where events on this topic can take place, organize them ourselves, or open our doors to partners. We consciously bring together those who can make a bigger difference together.

We show what is possible and collectively believe in a bright future through innovative development processes, resource-efficient circular economy, and bold ideas.
