Renovation—ready, set, go!

Since spring 2025, excavators, crawlers, and cranes have been rolling in across our site—with continuous sawing, welding, and hammering. This past June marked the completed transformation of Hall 4, creating a new heartbeat for many creative doers at Western Austria’s largest center for innovation, creative industries, art, and culture. But that was just the beginning. We’re moving straight on to Hall 1. Where do we stand right now? Take a look inside the construction site.

It all began with the groundbreaking ceremony in March 2025. Based on plans by timber construction pioneer Johannes Kaufmann and his team and with fantastic support from the City of Dornbirn and the State of Vorarlberg—Hall 4 was transformed meter by meter into a space for creative businesses: an open, welcoming environment featuring modular offices, event spaces, a green atrium, and shared community areas. Priority was given to using secondary resources; where their function reached its limit, renewable and recyclable building components were introduced. Read on to find out more
